Hello and welcome to Brinkle Springs Kennels & Cattery, the holiday boarding facilities for much loved pets.

We are Alison & Ray Nicholl and we are coming up to our 10 th year at Brinkle Springs. Prior to our life now Alison was the manager of a rescue centre and Ray used to help out at the weekends when they were short of staff. We are very experienced with dogs and cats in a kennel environment and work hard at making their stay a happy one.

We have 6 rescue dogs of our own all disabled. Blind from birth (Stevie Wonder), deaf from birth (Tegan), lame (Otis Redding), very old (Gracie) and 2 with psychological problems due to abuse (Norton and Babydog)

Oh yes and one very crabby cat with 3 legs, bad eye and rotten teeth! She found Alison about 6 months ago on a bike ride, nobody claimed her so she stayed. She now has her own fan club with our customers as she lives in the reception area!! We called her Gloria (I will survive!!)

We pride ourselves on our incredibly high standards of care. When your pet stays with us you can be assured they will receive lots of love and attention from experienced animal loving carers.

Our accommodation is modern light and heated during the winter and cleaned to a very high standard twice daily. Each pen has it own outside run so during those long summer days the dogs can either sunbathe or go inside to chill out. The dogs are exercised twice a day in the secure exercise areas and so get the chance to have a run about and stretch their legs. If your dog is in for a longer stay then walks are provided at least twice a day at no cost to you. We never mix or walk dogs from different homes together.

We also have a quieter block for those dogs that are very young, very old or just prefer the quiet life! Our cat pens are very spacious, comfortable and individually heated; multiple cats form the same home can easily share the space.

We carry a huge selection of food; we cater for most tastes and all life stages. Special diets can be arranged.

We can administer medication including insulin injections. As long as we have your instructions we will carry them out for you.

Our helpful and friendly team receive full in house training and are qualified to diploma level in animal care. So you can rest assured your pet is in the safest of hands. All we ask is that your dog has an up to date vaccination certificate – this is not an option.

Some households have a multitude of different pets. We take all manner of mammal's rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats; mice etc. and we have quite a tortoise following! We cannot take reptiles or birds, although the parrot rescue just down the road will look after your birds for you. It saves you going from place to place dropping off the pets one by one.

We have a fully operational grooming salon exclusively for the use of our boarding, training, and food customers. So while your dog is in for the holidays have them pampered, with bathing, clipping, scissoring the full works!! At very competitive rates.

Your dog does not have to be in the kennels to be groomed, as long as you are a customer you can book for grooming whenever you want. You can drop them off on your way to work and pick them up on your way home looking and smelling gorgeous!, and we will take care of them during the day. How is that for convenience!

Alison is a qualified dog trainer and behaviour councillor and runs classes and private lessons from their customised training facility a little further up the lane from the kennels. As a member of the APDT No 670 (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) kind methods only are used for training.

Classes are fun and informative. From puppy classes to adult classes and anything in between! All classes are syllabused and are not roll on roll off. The class starts together and finishes together six sessions later. Classes are small and informal up to six only on a class.

Other classes are available at certain times depending on numbers. Flyball, heelwork to music, clicker training and tracking. Later this year we will be starting a fun agility class.

As well as training classes Alison is more than willing to give free training or behaviour advice to customers who ask or need it. If advice alone does not work then it's off to school!

We have been selling Eagle Pack ® for nearly 8 years and our dogs and our client's dogs love it.
